Welcome to the fun!
Holy bajesus, we have a website! For those playing along at home, here’s the story of the Rapscallion Brigade.
Rapscallion Brigade started out as a project between 4 guys, Josh Shoberg, Dave Mahlen, Glenn Lawrence, and Steve Kastner as a way to kill time and have fun. The four of them were just hanging out one day and they decided to just pick a game at random and take turns. What it became instead was a beer-filled riff-fest where they made fun of the game’s flaws (and of each other) while having a lot of fun. Talk grew of doing it more often, and of people getting in on the fun, and eventually a YouTube channel was put together where they filmed a pilot episode using the PS2 game Tak and the Power of Juju.
After Tak, the guys started up on another PS2 title, Enter the Matrix. From there ideas spread like wildfire; what if they did more? What if they did Twitch? What about other show ideas? Who else could they get to help out? And expand they did!
They recruited Dale and Drea Shumate, seasoned D&D veterans to run and play a D&D campaign under the show name D&Derp. With Dale running the show as DM and his wife Drea on the team with Josh, Glenn, and Dave from Fat Old Balding Retro Gamers another show was born. While it took a bit to get up and running as they dealt with technical difficulties and the latter 3 members of the game having little to no experience with D&D it took a bit to got off the ground but started to quickly gain traction.
Additionally Twitch became more than just a way to fill gaps between FOBRG and D&Derp episodes. More people were recruited like Kendra Buckmaster and Josh’s wife Heather to start their way toward streaming nearly every day. Now it’s the playlist with the most videos on the YouTube channel!
So thanks for coming, stick around and stay tuned because there’s even more on the way; new Twitch players, new shows, blog posts, and more! Follow all the social media, subscribe to the YouTube and Twitch channels, and reach out any time! We’re a friendly group of people!
